Around 1490 [his father] George Manners 11th Baron Ros Helmsley (age 20) and [his mother] Anne St Leger Baroness Ros Helmsley (age 13) were married. She the daughter of Thomas St Leger and Anne York Duchess Exeter. They were half third cousins. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

In or before 1508 Richard Vernon (age 31) and [his future wife] Margaret Dymoke (age 7) were married. The difference in their ages was 23 years.

In or before 1509 Richard Manners was born to George Manners 11th Baron Ros Helmsley (age 38) and Anne St Leger Baroness Ros Helmsley (age 32).

On 27 Oct 1513 [his father] George Manners 11th Baron Ros Helmsley (age 43) died. He was buried in the St Leger Chantry, St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle [Map]. On 27 Oct 1513 His son [his brother] Thomas Manners 1st Earl of Rutland (age 21) succeeded 12th Baron Ros Helmsley.

After Aug 1517 William Coffin (age 22) and [his future wife] Margaret Dymoke (age 17) were married.

On 21 Apr 1526 [his mother] Anne St Leger Baroness Ros Helmsley (age 50) died. She was buried with her husband in the St Leger Chantry, St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle [Map].

Before 01 Apr 1529 [his future brother-in-law] Edward Dymoke (age 21) and Ann Tailboys (age 36) were married. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

In 1539 Richard Manners (age 30) was knighted.

In 1539 Richard Manners (age 30) was appointed Esquire to the Body to King Henry VII of England and Ireland.

In 1542 Richard Manners (age 33) was elected MP Leicestershire.

In 1545 [his wife] Margaret Dymoke (age 45) died.

In 1549 Richard Manners (age 40) was appointed High Sheriff of Warwickshire.

In 1549 Richard Manners (age 40) was appointed High Sheriff of Leicestershire.

On 09 Feb 1551 Richard Manners (age 42) died.

Henry Machyn's Diary. 14 Feb 1551. The xiiij day of Feybruarii was dysposyd of ys bysshoppr [icke] of Wynchestur, the old bysshope M. Stevyn Gardener (age 68), and cared in to the Towre-the v yer K. E. vjth.... and the compyny of the Clarkes ... cheyffe mornar was sir Garves Clyfftun (age 34) and M.... dyd pryche ther, and after they whent to dener unto the [earl of] Ruttland plasse in Wyttyngton Colege parryche.

Note. Funeral of sir Richard Manners (deceased). The paragraph of the diary partly defaced belongs to the funeral of an uncle of the earl of Rutland, whom we find thus noticed in another place: "Sir Rychard Manners knight dyed the ix^th of February a°. r. E. vj. v^to. and was beryed at Kateren Cryst churche the 14. of the same mounth; and the right honorable Henry erl of Rutland (age 24) was his hole executer and over-syer of his last wyll, to whom he gave all his goodes and landes." (MS. Harl. 897, f. 14.) Sir Richard Manners was twice married, as may be seen in the peerages.
