On 15 Dec 1827 Edward Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 1st Earl Wharncliffe was born to John Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 2nd Baron Wharncliffe (age 26) and Georgiana Elizabeth Ryder Baroness Wharncliffe (age 23).

On 21 Jul 1851 [his future brother-in-law] George Edwin Lascelles (age 25) and Louisa Nina Murray (age 13) were married. She the daughter of William David Murray 4th and 3rd Earl Mansfield (age 45) and Louisa Ellison. He the son of Henry Lascelles 3rd Earl Harewood (age 54) and Louisa Thynne Countess Harewood (age 50).

In 1853 Charles Mills 1st Baron Hillingdon (age 22) and [his future sister-in-law] Louisa Isabella Lascelles Baroness Hillingdon (age 23) were married. She the daughter of Henry Lascelles 3rd Earl Harewood (age 55) and Louisa Thynne Countess Harewood (age 51).

In 1855 Edward Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 1st Earl Wharncliffe (age 27) and Susan Charlotte Lascelles Countess Wharncliffe (age 21) were married. She the daughter of Henry Lascelles 3rd Earl Harewood (age 57) and Louisa Thynne Countess Harewood (age 53).

On 22 Oct 1855 [his father] John Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 2nd Baron Wharncliffe (age 54) died. His son Edward Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 1st Earl Wharncliffe (age 27) succeeded 3rd Baron Wharncliffe of Wortley in Yorkshire.

In 1866 [his sister-in-law] Mary Elizabeth Lascelles (age 23) died.

In 1869 [his brother-in-law] Horace Douglas Lascelles (age 34) died.

(age 30), and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the names, styles, and titles of Earl of Kinrara, in the County of Inverness, and Duke of Gordon, of Gordon Castle, in that part of the said United Kingdom called Scotland.

The Queen (age 56) has also been pleased to direct Letters Patent to be passed under the said Great Seal, granting the dignities of an Earl and Marquess of the said United Kingdom to William, Earl of Abergavenny (age 49), and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the names, styles, and titles of Earl of Lewes, in the County of Sussex, and Marquess of Abergavenny, in the County of Monmonth.

The Queen (age 56) has also been pleased to direct Letters Patent to be passed under the said Great Seal, granting the dignities of a Viscount and Earl of the said United Kingdom to Edward Montagu Stuart Granville, Lord Wharncliffe (age 48), and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the names, styles, and titles of Viscount Carlton, of Carlton, and Earl of Wharncliffe, bdth in the West Riding of the County of York; with remainder, in default of such issue male, to the Honourable [his brother] Francis Dudley Stuart-Wortley (age 46) (brother of the said Edward Montagu Stuart Granville, Lord Wharncliffe), and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten.

The Queen (age 56) has also been pleased to direct Letters Patent to be passed under the said Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baron of the said United Kingdom to John, Earl of Erne (age 73), in that part of the said United Kingdom called Ireland, K.P., and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, style, and title of Baron Fermanagh, of Lisnaskea, in the County of Fermanagh.

The Queen (age 56) has also been pleased to direct Letters Patent to be passed under the said Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baron of the said United Kingdom to John Ralph Ormsby-Gore (age 59), Esq, and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, style, and title of Baron Harlech, of Harlech, in the County of Merioneth; with remainder, in default of snch issue male, to William Richard Ormsby-Gore, Esq (age 56). (brother of the said John Ralph Ormsby-Gore), and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten.

The Queen (age 56) has also been pleased to direct Letters Patent to be passed under the said Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baron of the said United Kingdom to Henry Gerard Sturt (age 50), Esq, and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, style, and title of Baron Alington, of Crichel, in the County of Dorset.

The Queen (age 56) has also been pleased to direct Letters Patent to be passed under the said Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baron of the said United Kingdom to John Tollemache, Esq, and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, style, and title of Baron Tollemache, of Helmingham Hall, in the County of Suffolk.

The Queen (age 56) has also been pleased to direct Letters Patent to be passed under the said Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baron of the said United Kingdom to Sir Robert Tolver Gerard, Bart., and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, style, and title of Baron Gerard, of Bryn, in the County Palatine of Lancaster.

Edward Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 1st Earl Wharncliffe (age 48) was created 1st Earl Wharncliffe. [his wife] Susan Charlotte Lascelles Countess Wharncliffe (age 42) by marriage Countess Wharncliffe.

John Ormsby-Gore 1st Baron Harlech (age 59) was created 1st Baron Harlech with remainder to his brother William in the absence of male heirs.

Henry Gerard Sturt 1st Baron Alington (age 50) was created 1st Baron Alington. Augusta Bingham Baroness Alington (age 43) by marriage Baroness Alington.

1884. Edward Coley Burne-Jones 1st Baronet (age 50). "King Cophetua and the Beggar Maid". Model probably the artists wife Georgiana Macdonald Lady Burne-Jones (age 43). Inspired by Tennyson's (age 74) poem The Beggar Maid. The painting was purchased Edward Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 1st Earl Wharncliffe (age 56).

On 22 Aug 1884 [his mother] Georgiana Elizabeth Ryder Baroness Wharncliffe (age 80) died.

In 1892 [his brother-in-law] Egremont William Lascelles (age 67) died.

On 13 May 1899 Edward Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 1st Earl Wharncliffe (age 71) died without issue. His nephew Francis Montagu Stuart-Wortley-Mackenzie 2nd Earl of Wharncliffe (age 42) succeeded 2nd Earl Wharncliffe, 4th Baron Wharncliffe of Wortley in Yorkshire.

In 1927 [his former wife] Susan Charlotte Lascelles Countess Wharncliffe (age 93) died.
