On 29 Aug 1700 John Cecil 5th Earl Exeter (age 52) died. His son John Cecil 6th Earl Exeter (age 26) succeeded 6th Earl Exeter, 7th Baron Burghley. Elizabeth Brownlow Countess Exeter (age 19) by marriage Countess Exeter.

He was buried at St Martin's Church, Stamford [Map]. Monument to John Cecil and his wife Anne Cavendish Countess Exeter (age 51) sculpted by the French sculptor Pierre Etienne Monnot (age 43) who was working in Rome. Neo-classical statuary group. One of the finest tombs of its day in the country, displaying strong antique tendencies as befits its Roman creation.

John Cecil 5th Earl Exeter: Around 1648 he was born to John Cecil 4th Earl Exeter and Frances Manners Countess Exeter. On 02 May 1670 John Cecil 5th Earl Exeter and Anne Cavendish Countess Exeter were married. She the daughter of William Cavendish 3rd Earl Devonshire and Elizabeth Cecil Countess Devonshire. He the son of John Cecil 4th Earl Exeter and Frances Manners Countess Exeter. They were half third cousin once removed. In Feb 1678 John Cecil 4th Earl Exeter died. His son John Cecil 5th Earl Exeter succeeded 5th Earl Exeter, 6th Baron Burghley. Anne Cavendish Countess Exeter by marriage Countess Exeter.

Elizabeth Brownlow Countess Exeter: In 1681 she was born to John Brownlow 3rd Baronet and Alice Sherard Baroness Brownlow. In 1699 John Cecil 6th Earl Exeter and she were married. He the son of John Cecil 5th Earl Exeter and Anne Cavendish Countess Exeter. In 1710 Margaret Brownlow died of smallpox. Her estate of £40,000 was divided between her four sisters: Jane Brownlow Duchess Ancaster and Kesteven, Elizabeth Brownlow Countess Exeter, Alicia Brownlow Baroness Guildford and Eleanor Brownlow Viscountess Tyconnel. In 1723 Elizabeth Brownlow Countess Exeter died.

After 26 Jul 1723. Church of St Michael and All Angels, Edenham [Map]. Monument to Robert Bertie 1st Duke Ancaster and Kesteven (deceased) sculpted by Peter Scheemakers (age 32) and Henry Cheere 1st Baronet (age 20). A Classical Period with Corinthian Capitals supporting open dentilated pediment with garland, urns and putti. Before the Aedicule a rounded Pedestal supports a marble image of the deceased attired as a Roman General.

After 01 Jan 1741. Church of St Michael and All Angels, Edenham [Map]. Monument to Peregrine Bertie 2nd Duke Ancaster and Kesteven (deceased). Flat Obelisk before which stands life sized carving of the deceased leaning on an Urn, in Roman dress, a putto holding a medallion of the Duchess Jane Brownlow Duchess Ancaster and Kesteven. Sculpted by Louis Francois Roubiliac (age 38).

On 21 Sep 1761 John Bentley Ashley (age 59) died. Monument to John Bentley Ashley (age 59) in Saint Leodegarius Church, Ashby St Ledgers [Map]. Sculpted by John "The Elder" Bacon (age 20). Standing wall monument with two large allegorical figures flanking the inscription. Above them is a Sarcophagus on which is a Roman lamp on front of a black Obelisk. Also to James Ashley -1798. Simple Wall Monument with Urn and Obelisk. Also to Jane Pocock (age 51) and by whose will the. Monument was erected.

John Bentley Ashley: he and Jane Pocock were married. Around 1702 he was born to Joseph Ashley of Great Broughton.

Jane Pocock: In 1710 she was born. On 13 Jun 1784 she died.

After 22 Jul 1779. Church of St Michael and All Angels, Edenham [Map]. Monument to Peregrine Bertie 3rd Duke Ancaster and Kesteven and Robert Bertie 4th Duke Ancaster and Kesteven (deceased). On the south side by Charles Harris (age 30). Pointed back panel of black marble before which is a carving of the deceased seated in ducal robes, holding a cameo of the Duchess, beside him stands the fourth Duke (deceased) in Roman dress. The figures are flanked by urns. The base is carved with flutes and paterae and to the centre are bronze plates bearing the memorial inscription.

Mary Panton Duchess Ancaster and Kesteven: she was born to Thomas Panton of Newmarket. On 27 Nov 1750 Peregrine Bertie 3rd Duke Ancaster and Kesteven and she were married. She by marriage Duchess Ancaster and Kesteven. He the son of Peregrine Bertie 2nd Duke Ancaster and Kesteven and Jane Brownlow Duchess Ancaster and Kesteven. On 19 Oct 1793 she died.
