He the son of [his grandfather] Henry Clinton 2nd Earl Lincoln [aged 42] and [his grandmother] Catherine Hastings Countess Lincoln [aged 41]. They were half sixth cousins.

Around 1600 Theophilus Clinton 4th Earl Lincoln was born to Thomas Clinton 3rd Earl Lincoln [aged 29] and Elizabeth Knyvet Countess Lincoln [aged 22].

Around 1616 Theophilus Clinton 4th Earl Lincoln [aged 16] educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge University.

On 29th September 1616 [his grandfather] Henry Clinton 2nd Earl Lincoln [aged 75] died at Sempringham. His son [his father] Thomas [aged 45] succeeded 3rd Earl Lincoln, 11th Baron Clinton. [his mother] Elizabeth Knyvet Countess Lincoln [aged 38] by marriage Countess Lincoln.

On 15th January 1619 [his father] Thomas Clinton 3rd Earl Lincoln [aged 48] died at Tattershall Castle [Map]. His son Theophilus [aged 19] succeeded 4th Earl Lincoln, 12th Baron Clinton.

In 1622 Theophilus Clinton 4th Earl Lincoln [aged 22] and Bridget Fiennes Countess Lincoln were married. She by marriage Countess Lincoln. He the son of Thomas Clinton 3rd Earl Lincoln and Elizabeth Knyvet Countess Lincoln [aged 44].

In 1624 [his son] Edward Clinton was born to Theophilus Clinton 4th Earl Lincoln [aged 24] and [his wife] Bridget Fiennes Countess Lincoln. He married before 1652 Anne Holles, daughter of John Holles 2nd Earl de Clare and Elizabeth Vere Countess Clare, and had issue.

On 11th May 1638 [his mother] Elizabeth Knyvet Countess Lincoln [aged 60] died at Charlton-All-Saints, Wiltshire [Map].

On 30th November 1639 [his son-in-law] George Booth 1st Baron Delamer [aged 16] and Catherine Clinton were married. She the daughter of Theophilus Clinton 4th Earl Lincoln [aged 39] and Bridget Fiennes Countess Lincoln.

Abbot John Whethamstede’s Chronicle of the Abbey of St Albans

Abbot John Whethamstede's Register aka Chronicle of his second term at the Abbey of St Albans, 1451-1461, is a remarkable text that describes his first-hand experience of the beginning of the Wars of the Roses including the First and Second Battles of St Albans, 1455 and 1461, respectively, their cause, and their consequences, not least on the Abbey itself. His text also includes Loveday, Blore Heath, Northampton, the Act of Accord, Wakefield, and Towton, and ends with the Coronation of King Edward IV. In addition to the events of the Wars of the Roses, Abbot John, or his scribes who wrote the Chronicle, include details in the life of the Abbey such as charters, letters, land exchanges, visits by legates, and disputes, which provide a rich insight into the day-to-day life of the Abbey, and the challenges faced by its Abbot.

Before 1652 Edward Clinton [aged 27] and Anne Holles were married. She the daughter of John Holles 2nd Earl de Clare [aged 56] and Elizabeth Vere Countess Clare. He the son of Theophilus Clinton 4th Earl Lincoln [aged 51] and Bridget Fiennes Countess Lincoln.

In 1657 [his son] Edward Clinton [aged 33] died.

In 1667 [his daughter] Arabella Clinton died.

Before 21st May 1667 Theophilus Clinton 4th Earl Lincoln [aged 67] and Elizabeth Gorges Countess Lincoln were married. She by marriage Countess Lincoln. He the son of Thomas Clinton 3rd Earl Lincoln and Elizabeth Knyvet Countess Lincoln. They were first cousins.

On 21st May 1667 Theophilus Clinton 4th Earl Lincoln [aged 67] died. His grandson Edward succeeded 5th Earl Lincoln, 13th Baron Clinton.

In 1675 [his former wife] Elizabeth Gorges Countess Lincoln died.

[his daughter] Arabella Clinton was born to Theophilus Clinton 4th Earl Lincoln and Bridget Fiennes Countess Lincoln. She married Robert Rolle and had issue.

[his daughter] Catherine Clinton was born to Theophilus Clinton 4th Earl Lincoln and Bridget Fiennes Countess Lincoln. She married 30th November 1639 George Booth 1st Baron Delamer and had issue.

[his daughter] Margaret Clinton was born to Theophilus Clinton 4th Earl Lincoln and Bridget Fiennes Countess Lincoln. She married Hugh Boscawen and had issue.
