She the daughter of [his grandfather] Rene Valois Duke Alençon and [his grandmother] Margaret Lorraine Duchess Alençon [aged 50]. He the son of Francis Bourbon Count Vendôme and Soissons and Marie Luxemburg Countess Vendôme and Soissons. They were half third cousin once removed. He a great x 5 grandson of King Edward III of England.

On 7th May 1530 Louis Bourbon Prince Condé was born to Charles Bourbon Duke Vendôme [aged 40] and Françoise Valois Countess Vendôme [aged 40].

On 25th March 1537 [his father] Charles Bourbon Duke Vendôme [aged 47] died. His son [his brother] Antoine [aged 18] succeeded Duke Vendôme.

On 23rd February 1546 Francis Bourbon Count of Enghien [aged 26] died when hit by a falling chest. His brother Jean [aged 17] succeeded Count Enghien.

On 1st April 1547 [his grandmother] Marie Luxemburg Countess Vendôme and Soissons died. Her grandson [his brother] Jean [aged 18] succeeded Count Soissons.

On 20th October 1548 [his brother] Antoine King Navarre [aged 30] and [his sister-in-law] Jeanne Albret III Queen Navarre [aged 19] were married. She by marriage Duchess Vendôme. She the daughter of King Henry II of Navarre [aged 45] and Marguerite Valois Orléans Queen Consort Navarre [aged 56]. He the son of [his father] Charles Bourbon Duke Vendôme and [his mother] Françoise Valois Countess Vendôme [aged 58]. They were third cousins.

On 14th September 1550 [his mother] Françoise Valois Countess Vendôme [aged 60] died.

In 1551 Louis Bourbon Prince Condé [aged 20] and Eléanor de Roucy de Roye Princess Condé [aged 15] were married. She by marriage Princess Condé. He the son of Charles Bourbon Duke Vendôme and Françoise Valois Countess Vendôme.

On 29th December 1552 [his son] Henri Bourbon Condé Prince Condé was born to Louis Bourbon Prince Condé [aged 22] and [his wife] Eléanor de Roucy de Roye Princess Condé [aged 17]. He married (1) Charlotte Catherine Tremoille Princess Condé and had issue (2) Marie Cleves Princess Condé and had issue.

On 8th November 1556 [his daughter] Marguerite Bourbon Condé was born to Louis Bourbon Prince Condé [aged 26] and [his wife] Eléanor de Roucy de Roye Princess Condé [aged 21].

Chronicle of Geoffrey le Baker of Swinbroke

Baker was a secular clerk from Swinbroke, now Swinbrook, an Oxfordshire village two miles east of Burford. His Chronicle describes the events of the period 1303-1356: Gaveston, Bannockburn, Boroughbridge, the murder of King Edward II, the Scottish Wars, Sluys, Crécy, the Black Death, Winchelsea and Poitiers. To quote Herbert Bruce 'it possesses a vigorous and characteristic style, and its value for particular events between 1303 and 1356 has been recognised by its editor and by subsequent writers'. The book provides remarkable detail about the events it describes. Baker's text has been augmented with hundreds of notes, including extracts from other contemporary chronicles, such as the Annales Londonienses, Annales Paulini, Murimuth, Lanercost, Avesbury, Guisborough and Froissart to enrich the reader's understanding. The translation takes as its source the 'Chronicon Galfridi le Baker de Swynebroke' published in 1889, edited by Edward Maunde Thompson.

On 14th June 1557 [his brother] Jean Bourbon Count Soissons and Enghien [aged 28] and [his sister-in-law] Marie Bourbon [aged 18] were married. She the daughter of [his uncle] Francis Bourbon Duke Estouteville and Adrienne Estouteville Duchess Estouteville [aged 44]. He the son of [his father] Charles Bourbon Duke Vendôme and [his mother] Françoise Valois Countess Vendôme. They were first cousins.

On 10th August 1557 Henry Manners 2nd Earl of Rutland [aged 30] fought being Captain-General of the cavalry at the Battle of St Quentin.

Jean Bourbon Count Soissons and Enghien [aged 29] was killed at the Battle of St Quentin. His brother Louis [aged 27] succeeded Count Soissons.

Henry Dudley [aged 26] was killed.

On 3rd November 1557 [his son] Charles Bourbon Condé was born to Louis Bourbon Prince Condé [aged 27] and [his wife] Eléanor de Roucy de Roye Princess Condé [aged 22].

On 19th August 1558 [his son] François Bourbon Condé Prince Conti was born to Louis Bourbon Prince Condé [aged 28] and [his wife] Eléanor de Roucy de Roye Princess Condé [aged 23].

On 30th March 1562 [his son] Cardinal Charles Bourbon Conti was born to Louis Bourbon Prince Condé [aged 31] and [his wife] Eléanor de Roucy de Roye Princess Condé [aged 27].

Henry Machyn's Diary. 14th November 1562. The sam day at nyght cam a commondement [to] the masturs of every parryche and mastores shuld pray to [God] thys iij days for to helpe them that be send [be-]yond the see agaynst the Duke of Gwys [aged 43], the wyche the prynce of Co[ndé] [aged 32] doys in-tentt for to mett in the feld on Tuwsday.

On 17th November 1562 [his brother] Antoine King Navarre [aged 44] died.

On 19th December 1562 the Battle of Dreux was fought between Catholics, who were victorious, and Huguenots commanded by Anne I Duke of Montmorency [aged 69] and Louis Bourbon Prince Condé [aged 32] respectively.

Jean d'Annebault was killed.

Henry Machyn's Diary. 26th December 1562. The xxvj day of Desember cam tydynges unto the cowrt thatt the prynse of Condutt [aged 32] and the duke of Gwys [aged 43] mett in the [field,] and that the prynse was taken, and mony [many] taken and slayne, [and many] taken pressonars.

On 7th October 1563 [his daughter] Madeleine Bourbon Condé was born to Louis Bourbon Prince Condé [aged 33] and [his wife] Eléanor de Roucy de Roye Princess Condé [aged 28].

Before 1564 [his daughter] Catherine Bourbon Condé was born to Louis Bourbon Prince Condé [aged 33] and [his wife] Eléanor de Roucy de Roye Princess Condé [aged 28].

On 23rd July 1564 [his wife] Eléanor de Roucy de Roye Princess Condé [aged 29] died.

On 3rd November 1566 [his son] Charles Bourbon Condé Count Soissons was born to Louis Bourbon Prince Condé [aged 36] and [his wife] Francoise Valois Princess Condé [aged 17]. He married 1601 Anne Montafié Countess Soissons and had issue.

In 1567 [his son] Louis Bourbon Condé was born to Louis Bourbon Prince Condé [aged 36] and [his wife] Francoise Valois Princess Condé [aged 17].

In 1569 [his son] Benjamin Bourbon Condé was born to Louis Bourbon Prince Condé [aged 38] and [his wife] Francoise Valois Princess Condé [aged 19].

On 13th March 1569 Louis Bourbon Prince Condé [aged 38] was killed after surrendering at the Battle of Jarnac. His son Henri [aged 16] succeeded Prince Condé. His son Charles [aged 2] succeeded Count Soissons.

On 11th June 1601 [his former wife] Francoise Valois Princess Condé [aged 52] died.
