On 18th October 1476 Edward Neville 1st Baron Abergavenny [aged 63] died. His son George [aged 36] succeeded 2nd Baron Abergavenny. [his mother] Margaret Fenne Baroness Bergavenny by marriage Baroness Abergavenny.

In 1520 [his daughter] Margaret Neville was born to Thomas Neville [aged 45] and [his wife] Catherine Dacre [aged 35] at Mereworth, Kent. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Edward III of England. She married 1st May 1536 Robert Southwell and had issue.
Chronicle of Edward Hall [1496-1548]. April 1522. Then the Cardinal called the four hostages, that lay here for the payment of money for Turney, and they tour were delivered, to my lord of Saint Johns, to Sir Thomas Lovell, to Sir Andrewe Windsor [aged 55], and to Sir Thomas Neville [aged 47], every knight one to keep safe, and none of their country to speak with them privately, and the Ambassador was commanded to keep his house in silence, and not to come in presence, till he was sent for, which order sore abashed the French hostages, and the Ambassador, but there was no remedy, and commandment was given to the Mayor at London, to attach all the Frenchmen body and goods, and them to keep in prison, till he hard farther of the King's pleasure. Then were all the Frenchmen in London and about, arrested and brought to prison, so that all the prisons in and about London, were full of them, some of them escaped by speaking Dutch, and said they were Flemings borne, which was not tried.
On 20th August 1532 [his wife] Catherine Dacre [aged 47] died.
Before 1535 [his sister-in-law] Mary Stafford Baroness Bergavenny [aged 39] died in Abergavenny, Monmouthshire [Map]. The date of her death based on her husband George Neville 5th and 3rd Baron Abergavenny [aged 65] having married again before his death in 1535.
In or before June 1535 George Neville 5th and 3rd Baron Abergavenny [aged 66] and [his sister-in-law] Mary Brooke Baroness Bergavenny were married. She by marriage Baroness Abergavenny. They were half first cousin once removed. He a great x 3 grandson of King Edward III of England. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.
Before 4th June 1535 John St Leger and [his niece] Catherine Neville [aged 15] were married. The date confirmed by the mentioned in her father's will that they were married. He had been a ward of her father George Neville 5th and 3rd Baron Abergavenny [aged 66]. They were fourth cousins. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.
On 4th June 1535 George Neville 5th and 3rd Baron Abergavenny [aged 66] made his will. It was proved on 4th July 1536. In summary:

After 4th June 1535 George Neville 5th and 3rd Baron Abergavenny [deceased] died. He was buried at All Saints Church, Birling; his heart was buried at Mereworth, probably St Lawrence's Church, Mereworth. His son Henry [aged 5] succeeded 6th Baron Abergavenny, 4th Baron Abergavenny.
In 1536 Thomas Fiennes 9th Baron Dacre Gilsland [aged 21] and [his niece] Mary Neville Baroness Dacre of Gilsland [aged 12] were married. She by marriage Baroness Dacre Gilsland. He had been a ward of her father George Neville 5th and 3rd Baron Abergavenny. They were third cousin twice removed. He a great x 5 grandson of King Edward III of England.
