On 01 Jan 1789 [his grandfather] James Agar aka Agar-Ellis 1st Viscount Clifden (age 54) died. His son [his father] Henry Agar 2nd Viscount Clifden (age 27) succeeded 2nd Viscount Clifden of Gowran in County Kilkenny.

On 10 Mar 1792 [his father] Henry Agar 2nd Viscount Clifden (age 31) and [his mother] Caroline Spencer Viscountess Clifden (age 29) were married. She by marriage Viscountess Clifden of Gowran in County Kilkenny. She the daughter of George Spencer 4th Duke Marlborough (age 53) and Caroline Russell Duchess Marlborough (age 49).

On 14 Jan 1797 George James Welbore Agar 1st Baron Dover was born to Henry Agar 2nd Viscount Clifden (age 35) and Caroline Spencer Viscountess Clifden (age 34).

On 02 Feb 1802 Welbore Ellis 1st Baron Mendip (age 88) died. His great nephew [his father] Henry Agar 2nd Viscount Clifden (age 41) succeeded 2nd Baron Mendip of Mendip in Somerset.

On 25 Feb 1825 [his son] Henry Agar-Ellis 3rd Viscount Clifden was born to George James Welbore Agar 1st Baron Dover (age 28) and [his wife] Georgiana Howard Lady Dover (age 21).
