In 1770 [his father] John Wrottesley 8th Baronet (age 25) and [his mother] Frances Courtenay Lady Wrottesley were married. She by marriage Lady Wrottesley of Wrottesley in Staffordshire. She the daughter of William Courtenay 7th Earl Devon and Frances Finch Countess Devon.
On 04 Oct 1771 John Wrottesley 1st Baron Wrottesley was born to John Wrottesley 8th Baronet (age 26) and Frances Courtenay Lady Wrottesley.
On 23 Apr 1787 [his father] John Wrottesley 8th Baronet (age 42) died. His son John Wrottesley 1st Baron Wrottesley (age 15) succeeded 9th Baronet Wrottesley of Wrottesley in Staffordshire.

In 1823 John Wrottesley 1st Baron Wrottesley (age 51) was elected MP Staffordshire which seat he held until 1832.
In 1828 [his mother] Frances Courtenay Lady Wrottesley died.
